Method

  1. Don appropriate gear and ensure water bottle/pack is full.

  2. Select a suitable summer hike, some options below:

    • Bells Rapids – Swan Valley, ~45min to 1hr return

    • Reabold Hill – City Beach, 1hr to 1.5hr return (Zamia trail – 5.1km, other shorter trails available)

    • Serpentine Falls – Serpentine, 1.5-2hr return (Baldwin’s Bluff Trail - 6km)

    • Bluff Knoll – Stirling Range NP, Half day (6.8km, decent distance from Perth, great if you’re in the area but best to make a day/weekend out of it otherwise!)

Other options can be found to suit on Trails WA or the All Trails App!

    *PLEASE CHECK WEATHER FIRST*
If temperature is expected to hit over 33-35 degrees, I’d avoid hiking and opt for a shadier solution such as a park walk.

  3. Make your way to hiking destination.
Hikes best enjoyed with a party of 2-3, but if you choose to go solo, let someone know where you’re off to!

  4. Get walking! Hiking is a great way to clear your mind if you work in an office and reconnect with nature (also a great post-holiday feast workout).

  5. Make sure to drink water, snack for energy and of course take photos of all the beauty that you encounter!

And here’s some beautiful nature we prepared earlier…
